If asking employees

by admin on Sep.07, 2010, under Uncategorized

If asking employees to work late, order pizza to their house for dinner.

6. Keep Nerf foam toys around the office for “fun breaks”.

7. Give out silly and descriptive job titles such as “King of All
Production” or “The Keeper of the Phone Lines”.

8. Ring a bell or have a special song to play when something great happens, i.e. a big sale, make budget, or completion of a major project.

9. Dress up on holidays and special occasions. Example: Halloween costumes;
if your organization commenced in the seventies, dress in seventies clothes
on the anniversary date.

10. Turn your mission statement into a fun statement instead of being boring by having employees recite while dancing the Macarena or converting it in to a rhyming rap to repeat at meetings.

11. Create “secret pals” within the office to keep one anther motivated, remember birthdays, and encourage one another.

Lena family’s extreme makeover to air Sunday

0 Comments | Telegraph – Herald; Dubuque, Iowa, Nov 13, 2009

Be The Match FoundationSM celebrates ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’s completion of a new home for leukemia-survivor Joey Stott and her family. Joey, a 34-year-old wife and mother of three from Lena, received a life-saving bone marrow transplant in 2004. The Nov. 15 episode (7 p.m., ABC) will share Joey’s inspiring story – and will also help shed light on the financial hardships transplant patients and their families face.

While a bone marrow transplant can be a life-saving treatment for many patients, the costs take a toll on families, as the Stotts know all too well. Often there is the temporary loss of at least one income, and even with insurance, not all costs are covered.

“I didn’t think about the medical bills while in the hospital and my husband didn’t either, but there was a lot to think about when I got home,” said Joey. The Stott family is still paying off $40,000 in uninsured medical bills.

To help patients who need financial support, Be The Match Foundation raises funds to provide grants that cover costs related to their transplant and recovery. In collaboration with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, the foundation is kicking off a campaign to raise $1 million in patient assistance funds so more patients and their families can focus on healing. Viewers can visit BeTheMatch.org/extreme to make a tax-deductible financial contribution.

“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and the volunteers in Lena donated their time, energy and resources to help rebuild the Stott family home and give them a new life together,” said Christine Fleming, president, Be The Match Foundation. “Thousands of patients like Joey are also struggling to overcome the health and financial obstacles resulting from a marrow or umbilical cord blood transplant. We appreciate that Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is raising awareness of this important issue and hope that the public will step forward to help patients.”

Joey’s story also illustrates the need for more potential marrow donors. Like 70 percent of patients in need of a transplant, Joey had no donor match in her family. She turned to the Be The Match RegistrySM, operated by the National Marrow Donor Program(R) (NMDP), and relied on the kindness of a stranger – Tom Wilhelm of Colorado Springs, Colo. – to save her life.

During the building of the Stott family’s home, Be The Match held donor registry drives to encourage local volunteers and spectators to join the registry

What has happened

by admin on Sep.07, 2010, under Uncategorized

What has happened to cod fishing off the Grand Banks of Newfoundland?

Several centuries ago, John Cabot, sailing under the English flag, found the richest fishing area the world would come to know. Cod stocks in the Grand Banks region off the coast of Newfoundland were so bountiful and endless that the wheels starting to turn. England saw the potential wealth that cod fishing could bring their country.

Cod fish, once caught, could be dried and salted and sailed back to Europe. Cod was light and easily transported and furthermore, less expensive that other meats such as beef, pork, or lamb. At that point in time, the wealth that cod could bring to the European market was thought to surpass that of South American gold or Caribbean sugar.

The English fisherman saw large cod fish, sturgeon and salmon and very much plentiful. Huge oysters, herring, and squid were also found in endless amounts.

Today, sorry to say, that Newfoundland?s cod stocks are gone.

The occasional attempts

by admin on Sep.07, 2010, under Uncategorized

The occasional attempts in modern times by sincerely orthodox Christians to fall back upon an exclusive belief in the resurrection of the body, interpreted in a materialistic sense, as against the heathen doctrine of the natural immortality of the soul, have never gained any appreciable following. At the end of the ancient world Platonic idealism, so far as it was compatible with the dualism necessitated by certain portions of the dogmatic system, was decisively adopted. In the East, Greek ecclesiastical writers such as Nemesius (fl. 450), who had derived their culture from NeoPlatonism, transmitted its refutations of materialism to the next age.

You will also eliminate high interest charges

by admin on Sep.07, 2010, under Uncategorized

You will also eliminate high interest charges this way.

One of the best ways to handle your finances is to destroy your credit cards. With this method you will not be tempted to overspend again and get into worse problems. Keep proper records and try to understand how to stagger bills. Different bills come at different times of the month so do not need to be paid all in one go. You can spread them out between paychecks and have more money to handle other payments.

Hiring a service to help you with bad credit management: If necessary, you may want to hire a service to help you out. When you do this be very careful to do your research before you sign any contracts. Look and see that there are no customer complaints. Also check with the Better Business Bureau.

A Tepoztlan landmark with its bright pink exterior that’s hard to miss. It’s decorated in Mexican colonial style and features a typical Mexican dish menu. Blue corn tortillas are a specialty here and make their enchiladas interesting to the eye and the palette. Prices are moderate for most entrees, ranging around 30 to 50 pesos for most. If you’re a chocolate lover try the “Pollo en salsa mole” or chicken in mole sauce. Chocolate is a major ingredient in mole sauce.
